Welcome to Farwell-Elementary Wiki!!

I created this page so we can share resources, discuss ideas and possibly develop new or interesting lessons for ourselves and students. Please check out the video's below and the other pages on the left side (MI Champs, Discovery Resources, etc). I am sure we will be adding more as time goes on.

This is a link to another wiki. Shift Happens It is about a video series called "Shift Happens." The video has been remade several times with different information and created by different groups including a group of students. I like the newest Did You Know V4.0 the best. This one Did You Know V2.0I is slower paced and easier for students to follow. This Shift Happens V3.0 is also a favorite. Check them out and leave a note in the discussion area. Another fabulous video on 21st Century Learning is this one from YouTube. This a good one on the use of Social Media: Social Media Revolution.

My nephew sent me a link today that has some other interesting and possibly thought provoking videos. TED describes itself as: a small nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader. Along with the annual TED Conference in Long Beach, California, and the TEDGlobal conference in Oxford UK, TED includes the award-winning TEDTalks video site, the Open Translation Program, the new TEDx community program, this year's TEDIndia Conference and the annual TED Prize. Here is a TED video by Temple Grandin. She is autistic, a professor, a writer, a speaker in the areas of her research and an outspoken advocate for autistic children. Blog posting about this video: Thinking UDL: Universal Design for Learning. There was an excellent movie about her life I saw on HBO recently called: Temple Grandin The movie can be purchased for $24.99 from Amazon.

The Schools We Need Presentation at Igniite Philly by Chris Lehmann. Lots of great quotable concept and ideas.
